BMW presents to you “Sirena”, based on a 600 $ Saeco machine. It has a 15 bar pump driven stainless steel boiler. It has a dual brew spout which is programmable and two wand’s to switch quickly from frothing to brewing or the other way around. It was designed by the award winning BMW Designworks for Starbucks. An interesting future is the auto-off, which shuts down your machine after being idle for 90 minutes.
The espresso machine was invented in 1901 by a man called Lugia Bezzer. He would like his employees to have a shorter coffee break so he created a device to make coffee faster. This deviced was supposed to save time by using pressure to brew a concentrated shot of coffee. What they called the machine originally was the “Fast Coffee Machine”. Later in the years, the patent of the “Fast Coffee Machine” was sold to Desidero Pavoni in 1905. What he did, is use a piston pump to push water trough a tube for an even finer espresso product.
This nice drawing has been made by Lokesh Dahkar. They use it to sell t-shirts, mugs, etc. But for us it just looks like a nice way of displaying some of the ways to make coffee.
NexPods are single use capsules made to fill in an easy and clean way to be used with your Nespresso coffee machine. It works with both coffee and tea.
How do NexPod cups work?
1. Insert the circular paper filter in the cap of the pod
2. Use the pod itself to gather the coffee and close the capsule directly in the coffee bag to avoid spilling
3. Press the ground coffee in the pod
4. Clean the edge of the capsule before closing it (To prevent leaking)
5. Insert the NexPod capsule into your Nespresso machine
This is a design concept by Kamil Kurka, it looks so damn nice! Hopefully it will become reality in the future, i’d definitely buy one!
